Bil Musa is a Malaysian born singer-songwriter, who as a kid, believed in the importance of balance. She was studious but also spent a lot of time on the keys. At age 7, she learned to play songs she loved by ear and wrote songs about the things that were going on around her.
Growing up listening to the likes of Queen, Abba, Edith Piaf and Michael Jackson, her influences have since developed into what she perceives to be the “greats” of her time, Jhene Aiko, Lykke Li, Lana Del Rey and Snoh Aalegra to name a few.
Bil only started recording and posting her music on Soundcloud at the age of 17, after relentless encouragement from her friends. After receiving growing support from her tiny online following, family and friends, Bil started performing in public. It was then that she was discovered by Yuna Room Records and signed with the label in 2014. During her time there, she released a self-titled EP, an album titled Young Adults and singles including ‘Flashes’, Pikachu Aku Pilih Kamu’, ‘Let Me In’ and ‘Salam Raya’. These songs brought her from small to big stages locally and abroad, like Laneway Festival, Rockaway, Urbanscapes and Good Vibes Festival, all while receiving guidance from the label’s namesake, Yuna.
In the year 2020, Bil moved forward with her music career independently and has also recently expanded her portfolio by writing music for other artists as well as jingles.
